Sam Bankman-Fried to testify in fraud trial

Founder of FTX Sam Bankman-Fried He will testify in his criminal trial, his defense team said Wednesday, in what many legal observers see as an attempt to persuade jurors that he never intended to defraud the exchange’s customers cryptography for billions of dollars.

“We’re going to call potentially three witnesses, and then our client is going to testify as well,” the attorney said. Marc Cohen » said the New York federal judge presiding over the case during a virtual hearing. Bankman-Fried will likely testify Thursday and Friday, Cohen said. Federal prosecutors said they would wrap up their case Thursday morning.
