USD/JPY Hourly Chart
Now it’s starting to look a little more energetic. The 150 pip drop earlier still showed some semblance of the movement we saw on Friday last week. But now the USD/JPY decline is starting to look stronger and more convincing. If anything, we may have finally hit the climax and Tokyo is responding in kind. USD/JPY is now down at 156.85 as I update the post.
The question now is how long can Tokyo maintain this situation as it seeks to draw a hard line on the falling yen? The big problem for Japanese officials is that they don’t have the fundamental narrative on their side.
