Globe Life stock rebounds after massive sell-off Thursday
Globe Life shares rallied 11% during extended trading hours on Thursday. The stock sold off sharply during Thursday’s session, ending the day down 53%, after a report from short seller Fuzzy Panda Research noted multiple occurrences of insurance fraud.
“We discovered numerous allegations of insurance fraud that were ignored by management even though they were obvious and reported hundreds of times,” the research firm wrote. He also noted that the organization’s structure is a multi-level marketing strategy akin to a pyramid scheme.
In the same report, Fuzzy Panda Research also revealed that it had taken a short position in the life insurance stock.
