Stardew Valley Adds 40 New Mine Layouts In Latest Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Even though we’re still waiting for Stardew Valley’1.6 Update» for Switch, game creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone is already rolling out new updates for the PC version.

In the last update (Update 1.6.4), the creator added all kinds of new content and features on top of everything that was already included in the 1.6 update. The highlight of version 1.6.4 is the fact that there are now 20 new “alternative” main layouts and 20 new volcanic mine layouts.

There is plenty of other content, as well as translation changes, balance changes, visual improvements, quality of life improvements, bug fixes and much more. While waiting for version 1.6 to arrive on Switch (according to a previous update from earlier this month, it is arriving “as soon as possible”), here is an overview of the patch notes for it. slightly newer patch:

Stardew Valley 1.6.4 (available now on PC):

New content and features

– Added 20 new “alternative” mine layouts, which can start appearing after reaching the bottom of the mines.
– Added 20 new volcano mine layouts, which can appear after unlocking the shortcut between the caldera and the volcano entrance.
– Added fish frenzy.
– Added a special cutscene after helping your new neighbors expand their family to the maximum.
– Added 4 new fairy styles.
– You can now place 8 additional items other than fish in aquariums.
– The Raccoon Shop now includes a Mystery Box and Golden Mystery Box exchange.
– Vinegar can now be poured on trees to prevent moss from growing.
– The shaving enchantment now causes tree-specific rewards:

fern → fiddlehead fern
mushroom → red mushroom
mahogany → hardwood

Translation changes

– Many changes and improvements from the Chinese version
– Changes to Russian, Portuguese, Hungarian, Turkish and Korean translations.
– Changed Chinese fonts to make them more attractive and readable.
– Changed the Hungarian digit spacing character from a comma to a period.
– Some Russian font improvements.

Balance changes

– When you load a save, you will now unlock missed Steam achievements if necessary (e.g. achievements obtained while playing offline).
– Added a mini shipping bin as an expensive purchase from a Qi gem store.
– Added more variety and improvements to Skull Cave treasure chests.
– Elixirs of Life now only restore health, and Energy Tonics now only restore energy.
– Wild Seed Spots are now rarer, but produce more seeds.
– Iridium Golem’s chance to drop Iridium has been doubled.
– Volcano entry level monsters are now randomized each day.
– Using a treasure totem indoors no longer works. This avoids wasting them.
– Going down a level in the mines now makes you invulnerable for 1 second.
– Increased Raccoon Mystery Box reward from 4 to 5.
– Farming experience now contributes 50% to mastery experience.
– The Ice Orb will no longer freeze a spider when it jumps in the air.
– Removed Red Snapper from the Winter Fishing quest pool and Sardines from the Summer quest pool.
– You will no longer get calico ranking points when descending into normal mines.
– Golden Mystery Boxes now have a small chance of dropping an automatic pet.
– Slightly reduced chance of finding mystery boxes.
– Mine barrels and coal carts will now be “refreshed” at the start of each year.
– The order of Mystery Box rewards is now randomized per player rather than per save.

Visual improvements

– Qi Club Coins now appear in the Shop menu.
– Various map changes and fixes.
– Removed Maru’s glasses from all beach portraits for consistency.
– Improvements to signage in some languages ​​other than English (i.e. Chinese, French and Russian)

Quality of life changes

– Added a 1.2 second delay after an item falls, before it is picked up by the same player.
– Napalm rings are now non-destructive on the farm and inside the slime hutch (i.e. the explosion will only damage monsters).
– Added ctrl + right click as an alternative keyboard shortcut in the toolbar.
– Receiving a “special notification” (e.g. the first geode message) will no longer cancel player actions such as eating or warping.
– Falling fish no longer fall back into fish ponds.
– Crab pots now have a short time after harvest during which they cannot be removed (750ms).
– The Junimo bundle menu now highlights only items that can actually be placed in the selected bundle.

Gameplay fixes

– Fixed disappearing pets bug.
– Fishing splash zones and ore spots are now removed overnight.
– The reward ticket dispenser now consumes your ticket when you get the reward, rather than when you first press the button.

– Fixed an issue with animals and building interiors being duplicated in saves before ~1.3.

– Fixed a text parsing error for Asian languages ​​that resulted in incorrect wrapping in some cases.
