Forget the Ultra, Samsung working on a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim

Here’s something that comes completely out of left field: Samsung is reportedly making a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim that will launch in the last quarter (October-December) of the year.

We’ve known about a possible Ultra version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 for a while now, but this is the first time we’ve heard of a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim. This information comes from industry insider and analyst Ross Young, who revealed that the Slim variant could have a larger screen than the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 and might not support the S Pen.

Story continues after our video review of the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s cameras

Young didn’t go into further detail, only saying that they would reveal the dimensions of the device’s interior and exterior displays in a future report. But we can assume that this Z Fold 6 Slim could be Samsung’s answer to competing foldables from Chinese manufacturers, many of which have larger foldable screens and are considerably thinner than Samsung’s offerings.

Could the Slim model be equivalent to Samsung’s Galaxy S Plus smartphones?

It’s unclear what a Slim model means for the Z Fold 6 Ultra. According to Young, the Slim model could be priced similarly to the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6, so it could fall between the standard and Ultra models like the Plus model of Samsung’s Galaxy S flagships.

However, it remains to be seen how widely available the Slim model will be. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra is currently only expected to launch in Samsung’s home country, and the same could be true for the Fold 6 Slim.

Of course, it also remains to be seen whether this Slim model exists. Young has a great track record when it comes to rumors about Samsung’s upcoming devices, but since this is the first time we’re hearing about the Fold 6 Slim, we’ll have to remain skeptical until more information and evidence comes. succeed.
