Demi Lovato Returns to Met Gala After 8-Year Absence

Demi Lovato rises like a skyscraper.

The “Confident” singer returned to the Met Gala after eight years on May 6, walking up the iconic steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in a strapless silver dress with floral embellishments by Prabal Gurung.

To complete her return to fashion’s biggest night, which this year had a “Garden of Time” dress code, Demi paired her look with a statement diamond necklace that sparkled brighter than the neon lights. The evening marked Demi’s first return to the Met Gala in eight years, and as she exclusively told E! News, she was delighted to be there.

“I feel amazing,” she said Ross Mathews during Live from E! : Met Gala, adding that during her journey, she went through a myriad of emotions. “A little nervous, a little anxious, but ultimately excited.”

She also revealed that a new album was on the way, telling Ross: “I’m in the studio right now, working on some new music. And hopefully it’ll be out in the near future.”
