Daniel Cameron Pursues Bluegrass Blue Dog Andy Beshear

Louisville, Kentucky.

Governor. Andy Beshear is running for re-election as one of the last Blue Dog Democrats, that disappearing breed of moderates. It may not be entirely by choice. Left to his own devices, Mr. Beshear, 45, has the predilections of a standard American left-wing progressive. But Republicans dominate both chambers of the Kentucky General Assembly, the state legislature, with veto-proof majorities, and Donald Trump led the Bluegrass State by 26 points in 2020 and 20 points in 2016. To win re-election, Mr. Beshear needs to dust off some old Blue Dog tricks.
