Apple working to fix iPhone alarm problem | Apple

Apple is working to fix an issue that has caused some users to complain that their iPhone alarms aren’t going off or are playing too quietly.

The company said it was aware of the issue, which was reported by TikTok users who complained about incidents where their alarm did not sound.

“This is probably the third or fourth day in a row that my alarm hasn’t gone off,” one TikTok user said.

Another said: “I’ve noticed for about a week now that my alarm just won’t wake me up. » Users reported that the issue was causing them timing issues.

Apple said it was working to resolve the issue quickly, although it is not clear how many people were affected or which devices are involved.

Another TikTok user, in a video that has garnered nearly 10 million views, said his iPhone 15’s alarm went off at the “lowest volume” and claimed the problem was related to the activating an “attention awareness” function on his phone. “Apple, are you trying to get people fired?” » » added the user.

Apple declined to comment on whether the feature was the cause of the alarm issue, which was first reported by NBC’s Today program. The attention awareness feature reduces the sound of alerts if users look at their device. If you look at your phone, the screen also dims until you stop looking at it.

Apple has an online alarm guidance page, which notes controlling the alarm volume via the “Sounds & Haptics” feature in Settings, adding that the “Do Not Disturb” and “Silent Mode” options do not. do not affect the alarm sound. The page also recommends that users check that their alarm sound is not set to “none.”
