Zambia among Sub-Saharan African countries that have yet to receive any vaccine

While over 60 million doses of vaccine have been administered in the United States, the country of Zambia has yet to receive any vaccine. According to the COVAX International Vaccine Equity Initiative, uncontrolled infection anywhere in the world can lead to other mutations that threaten global health. Michelo Simuyandi, principal researcher of the CIDRZ laboratory, joins “CBSN AM” by phone from Lusaka, Zambia, to discuss the situation in sub-Saharan Africa.
