YouTube has announced many new features for its premium subscribers. After increasing the prices of YouTube Premium subscription, the company is adding more features to make people feel satisfied with what they pay. However, one of the announced features is already available to several users.
YouTube Premium gets improved bitrate on Android and smart TVs
In addition to an ad-free experience, YouTube Premium now offers higher quality 1080p streaming when watching videos on Android devices and smart TVs. It offers higher quality videos with the same 1080p resolution with less video compression. This feature has been available for a few weeks on Android smartphones and tablets, but it was first launched on iPhones.
Premium subscribers can also continue watching videos they left on one device when they get another one. For example, if you stop watching a video on your phone and start YouTube on your TV, you can continue watching the same video because YouTube will display that same video with the label “Continue Watching”.
Virtual badges and AI summaries of videos and comments
YouTube will also grant long-time premium subscribers virtual badges. The collection of all your badges can serve as a virtual trophy cabinet that highlights your Premium milestones. Google also offers AI-generated content on YouTube. You can ask Conversation AI to suggest more videos like the one you’re watching or anything else related to what you’re looking for. You can also ask questions on video to this AI chatbot. This feature is only limited to a few people who own an Android device and live in the United States.
You can also ask this AI to summarize long comments into snackable text with a clear theme. Creators can use it to get ideas for their next videos, while viewers can use it to track reactions from people who watched the video live.
