Young Democratic voter abandons Biden and leans toward Trump after Afghanistan debacle: ‘Don’t think he’s competent’

A young Democratic voter told FOX News on Friday that he is leaning toward former President Trump in the 2024 election after repeated examples of incompetence from the Biden administration.

“I haven’t seen any form of accountability in this administration. I think that’s what’s going to change my vote from former Joe Biden to Donald Trump,” Jahmiel Jackson, 21, told “Fox & Friends.” .

“I saw Joe Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. And then I saw him check his watch during military funerals. And I think if we were to go to war, I would be drafted into the military force. age. And I don’t want him checking his watch while they bury me. I don’t believe he’s a competent commander in chief. And then he’d probably blame my death on climate change the same way he blamed the withdrawal from Afghanistan on Donald Trump.”

Stacey Fox, a Republican voter, shared Jackson’s sentiment, saying voters should focus on electing a president who can make tough decisions.

“Who will have the tenacity to make a decision and stick to it?” Fox asked. “Joe Biden can’t do that. I think Donald Trump, by putting him with a very strong vice president, will make these decisions, will take our country out of the dumps that we’re heading into. And I’m really afraid if that do not change.”

A new FOX News poll released Thursday found that 61% believe President Biden lacks the mental toughness needed for the office he holds. This sentiment has continued to increase over the past three years, up five points since last year, up 13 points from 2021, and up 16 points since 2020.

“I prefer someone who gets the job done,” Campus Reform correspondent Kristen Jackson told “Fox & Friends First” Friday. “I think we’re getting into identity politics between younger and older races and all that, and I don’t think it matters. I think if you’re competent enough to do the job, do it well and do it I honestly strongly consider voting for you as a candidate for President of the United States.”

Campus Reform correspondent Marya Ruth Dunning added:I think the best way to attract young voters is definitely not to tell us we’re stupid. And especially with Biden unable to string a sentence together and Kamala barely able to do it herself, it’s just an insult. »

Dunning then criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for acting as a champion of women but refusing to defend them in the debate over protecting female athletes.

“Harris claims to be on a college tour for freedom, but she only wants free speech for those who agree with her, with her far-left gender ideology.”

Jackson, who considers himself a “conservative Democrat,” said he believes the party is choosing another candidate.

“It’s only a matter of time before they (the media) start supporting someone else,” he said of concerns about the president’s mental competence.

“I think they just give him this off-ramp and say, ‘Just say you’re your age and ride off into the sunset.'”
