Yermak meets with a Polish delegation | ukraine news


Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak had a meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Poland, during which the parties discussed defense cooperation, Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration and Poland’s participation in the reconstruction of our country.

“Head of Cabinet of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak met with the delegation of the Republic of Poland, which included the State Secretary – Head of the Office for International Policy at the Presidential Chancellery of the Republic of Poland, Marcin Przydacz, Minister for Europe Union of the Republic of Poland Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk and Minister-member of the Council of Ministers of Poland Michał Dworczyk”, informs the office of the President.

Yermak briefed the Polish side on the situation at the front and thanked Poland for its strong defense support, especially for its leading role in creating a tank coalition. The sides discussed strengthening defense cooperation between Ukraine and Poland.

The president’s chief of staff pointed out that one of the most difficult problems caused by Russia’s large-scale aggression is Russia’s mass kidnapping of Ukrainian children. In this context, the President welcomed Poland’s intention to launch a joint initiative with the European Commission to join forces, collect evidence, identify ways to find the abducted children and bring those responsible for this crime to justice.

Particular attention was paid to the issue of Ukraine’s European integration and the coordination of joint efforts between Kyiv and Warsaw to advance our country on the road to EU membership. Yermak noted that Ukraine is finalizing the implementation of European Commission recommendations on the status of a candidate for EU membership. He also stressed that our country’s priority is to start negotiations on EU membership by the end of this year.

The Chief of the President’s Cabinet thanked the high-ranking representatives of the Republic of Poland for their country’s participation in the restoration of the territories liberated from the invaders. In this context, the parties discussed specific projects in which Warsaw is ready to be one of the leaders.

During the talks, a schedule of high-level contacts for the near future was coordinated.
