Here are some notable nuggets that happened during Yankees spring training on Monday:
powerful pen
The Yankees used much of their bullpen core in the 5-2 win over the Phillies, with Lucas Luetge, Wandy Peralta, Clay Holmes, Chad Green, Jonathan Loaisiga and Aroldis Chapman each pitching an inning. Only Luetge dropped out of a race.
sick day
Jasson Dominguez, who will start the year at Low-A Tampa, was supposed to make his first Grapefruit League appearance off the bench, but he was scratched with a stomach bug.
Caught my attention
Giancarlo Stanton showed his arm in right field. A solid throw home on a fly ball from Matt Vierling nearly brought Mickey Moniak to third. And in the fifth, he threw Jean Segura on an Alec Bohm hit.
Tuesday schedule
The Yankees wrap up spring training at Steinbrenner Field against the Tigers at 1:05 p.m.
