The New York Yankees (56-21) remain the best team in baseball by record and eye test.

They are coming off a wonderful month of June which saw them finish with a 22-6 record.

Despite playing most of their games at home, the Yankees have shown they’re all road warriors in 2022.

They’ll start a tough weekend streak against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field, against a team that has walk-off magic this week.

Still, the Yankees have been extremely competitive on the road, according to MLB.com beat writer Bryan Hoch.

“The Yankees are looking to avoid losing back-to-back road games for only the second time in 2022 (May 28-29, at TB). New York’s 22-12 road record is the best in the major leagues,” Hoch wrote via Twitter.

They lost Thursday to the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park, in a closely contested game with another top American League team.

If they lose tonight, it would only be the second time in 2022 that the Yanks have lost two games in a row.

That says a lot about the team’s ability to win games on the road.

It’s not easy to have an away winning record in MLB, but the Yankees pass that test.

That’s actually one of the reasons they’ve been so dependable and trustworthy this year: they can win anytime, anywhere and in so many ways: dominate from start to finish, smash the opponent, with a huge rally to overturn the score, and more.

The Astros gave them tweaks, but the Yankees remain the best team in the American League and will try to prove it in Cleveland as well.
