Xavi hints at Haaland transfer offer: ‘Nobody said no to Barcelona’

Arcelona boss Xavi has expressed his confidence in completing a move for Erling Haaland – insisting that “no footballer” has ever turned the club down.

The Borussia Dortmund striker is a top target for several clubs in the upcoming summer transfer market, with Barcelona battling Real Madrid and Manchester City for his services.

Despite the Catalans’ recent money problems, as well as the fact that they are currently out of the domestic title race and relying on the Europa League, the manager sees no reason why a player like Haaland wouldn’t join.

“You said I met Haaland…” Xavi remarked to reporters on Wednesday “I didn’t know he saw me.

“It’s always a good time to sign for Barcelona. We are the best club in the world.

“No footballer has said no to Barcelona since I’ve been here.”

Meanwhile, former Camp Nou star Hristo Stoichkov has called on his former club to make Haaland a statement signing.

“I would sign him,” he told Cadena SER. “Barcelona have to deal a big blow.

“I hope the club will make a big effort for him to arrive and make history with Barcelona. He has a lot of quality, to score goals and also to create them.
