Men’s Javelin Throw Final – Neeraj Chopra, Rohit Yadav in action
After performing consistently in the last three events, it’s time for Neeraj to put his A game on in the medal rounds. He’s going to have to be at his best to beat Anderson Peters, who is the heavy favorite. None of the throwers having crossed the 90m mark during the qualifications, there is plenty of fuel left in the tanks of all the throwers to give their best in the final.
Other contestants include Jakub Vadlejch, Julian Weber among others. India’s Rohit Yadav may not be seen as a medal hopeful, but he will be keen to make an impression at the elite stage.
Men’s Triple Jump Final – Eldhose Paul in the FINAL
Of the three Indians, only Eldhose Paul managed to qualify for the triple jump final. It’s a feat in itself. It’s Portugal’s Pedro Pichardo, who achieved an impressive qualification with a jump of 17.16 and remains the favorite for the final as well. Cuban Lazaro Martinez is another jumper to watch in the final alongside world indoor record holder Hugues Fabrice Zango.
Men’s 4x400m relay
India is one of 16 teams competing in the men’s 4x400m relay. India will start in the first leg. It won’t be an easy task with only three top teams from each qualifying for the final alongside the other two top teams overall. The United States are still the favourites, as their recent history suggests, winning seven of the last eight world titles. The Indian relay team includes Noah Nirmal Tom, Muhammed Ajmal, Naganathan Pandi, Rajesh Ramesh and Muhammed Anas Yahiya, only four of them will start.
Final 4x100m men and women
With the kind of sprinters of the men’s team of the United States, they leave favorites despite the injury of Fred Kerley. They have Trayvon Bromell and Marvin Bracy as board stars to take them to gold. As for the women’s competition, Jamaica are the team to beat. A team of stars like Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shericka Jackson, it would take something special to beat Jamaica.
