WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women’s tennis team opened the 2022 spring season on a successful note Saturday, outscoring the visiting Presbyterians, 4-3, in windy conditions on the UNCW courts.

The Seahawks, with three new players on the roster, lost the point in doubles but rallied with four singles wins to defeat the Blue Hose of the Big South Conference. PC now sits 2-3 on the year.

In the first of 11 home doubles games of the new season, the Seahawks showed good depth in the roster to open the spring campaign. UNCW recorded singles wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 in singles at temperatures in the upper 40s.

The Seahawks then travel to Buies Creek, North Carolina on Friday, Feb. 11, for their next game at 2 p.m.
