Woman tries and fails to rush into UFC octagon in viral video

A daring fan attempted to jump into the octagon at UFC 274 but her attempt was quickly thwarted by security as seen in a viral TikTok.

Shriak Sharma shared the video, which has over 670,000 views on his @imlavishbishhh account. The woman jumped out of her seat and dashed into the octagon before being pushed to the ground.

According to Sports Destination Management, sports event security covers all possible security risks for customers. This can extend to weather conditions, natural disasters and people seeking to harm participants.

“Event operators should consider the number of people, the level of competition, the history of the event, as well as the layout of the venue when determining the need for policing and security, where they should be located and the number of officers needed,” the piece said.

The organization also noted that event coordinators can assess an event before it takes place to decide if police are needed to discourage “negative activity”.

In Sharma’s video, the woman slowly lowered herself from her seat to the floor before sprinting off into the octagon.

She climbed out of the octagon as some members of the crowd cheered her on before being immediately pushed to the ground.

For a brief moment, viewers saw the woman being led away by security.

TikTok viewers were quick to share their thoughts on the clip in the comments section.

“She definitely hurt herself from that fall,” wrote one viewer.

Another commented, “That camera guy definitely saw her getting ready to jump over it and said, ‘That’s none of my business.'”

One viewer wondered what the woman’s plan was if she made it into the octagon, while another claimed a UFC event was the “worst” place to attempt this stunt.

“She got dumped,” one TikTok viewer commented.

Sharma noted in the comments section that he did not know the woman.

Newsweek has contacted Shriak Sharma and the UFC for further comment.

Other moments at sporting events have gone viral, and while some left viewers laughing, others were more heartwarming.

Another video surprised viewers when a kissing camera at a hockey game caught a proposal between a happy couple following another couple’s fake proposal.
