Woman killed in Ashburn hit-and-run, Chicago police say – NBC Chicago

A woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident in southwest Chicago Friday night, police say.

The 34-year-old woman was crossing a street in the 2900 block of West Columbus at around 8:28 p.m. when she was hit by a black SUV traveling westbound on the roadway.

According to the police, the vehicle did not stop after hitting the woman and immediately drove away.

The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

There are no suspects in custody and detectives are investigating.
