Woman jumps out of window to escape fire in North Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Nashville fire crews responded to a house fire early Friday morning in North Nashville that forced a woman to jump out of a window to safety.

According to the fire chief, when crews arrived at the scene on North 25th Avenue, the home was fully involved and worked quickly to stop the flames from spreading to other homes.

The chief said the fire started inside the house and grew too big for crews to enter, so they were forced to fight the flames from outside.

A woman inside the house escaped the fire by jumping out the window towards a family member waiting below who grabbed her. No injuries were reported in this incident.

The fire chief said the house was a total loss and the cause of the fire was being investigated.
