An Indiana woman trying to pick up her husband after he hit a drunken tractor-trailer ended up totaling their two vehicles when he arrived, police said.
Her 56-year-old husband crossed the center line of State Road 165 in Posey County on Monday night and collided with a semi-truck, Indiana State Police said.
With the couple’s home a short drive away, the husband called his wife to pick it up before soldiers and sheriff’s deputies arrived, police said. But on her way to the scene of the accident, the woman crashed into her husband’s truck, which was still standing on the road, police said.
Police said the couple showed signs of disability after arriving at the scene. The woman had a blood alcohol level of 0.22% in a preliminary test at a hospital and her husband’s test was 0.28%, police said.
The woman was arrested and taken to jail, while her husband was admitted to hospital with a medical issue that police do not consider life threatening.
The semiconductor was not injured.
