With Fallout Season 2 Confirmed, We Know at Least One Iconic Monster Will Make Its Debut

The Fallout TV show is a hit, so it’s no surprise to hear Prime Video announce season 2 just a week after season 1 debuted. takes Fallout after the season 1 finale, there’s an iconic monster that’s being targeted for season 2.

Warning: Fallout Season 2 spoilers ahead!

If you’ve watched Season 1 of Fallout, you may have noticed that Fallout’s iconic Deathclaws are conspicuous by their absence. While Deathclaws are a major enemy in all Fallout games, we only see the skull of a Deathclaw right before the entire season launches.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, co-showrunner Graham Wagner explained why Deathclaws didn’t make the cut for Season 1, but confirmed that they will indeed be a part of Season 2.

“We wanted to get Deathclaws, but we didn’t want to just throw it away,” Wagner said. “It’s such a monumental piece that we want to save something for Season 2 so we can do it properly, and not just add to the massive world-building that we already had to do in Season 1. So, Season 2, we’re very excited to finally tackle one of the games’ most iconic elements.

It’s pretty clear: the Deathclaws will arrive in season 2. But how could their arrival work? IGN’s Simon Cardy recently outlined 14 things we’d like to see in Fallout Season 2, and Deathclaws tops the list:

“I can already imagine a beleaguered Kyle MacLachlan finding himself in a fight with one, which, given his limited experience with his new power armor, could well end up with him disappearing in T60 seconds.

“The iconic snarling and slashing Deathclaw is a long-time staple of the Fallout bestiary, having appeared in every game in the series to date. It was wise of Jonathan Nolan and his team not to give us one in its glory in this first run of episodes, but it would be a hell of a way to kick off season two.

Seems like a good call to me: kick off Season 2 with a fight between the evil Hank and a Deathclaw outside of New Vegas itself. To me, there’s only one way to fight: bad for Hank. Maybe Mr. House will step in to lend a hand?

There are a lot of unanswered questions after Season 1 of Fallout. Fans have many theories about the snake oil salesman’s mysterious serum, for example. To tide you over until Season 2, be sure to check out IGN’s in-depth, spoiler-filled interview with Todd Howard, head of Bethesda Game Studios, and Jonathan Nolan, executive producer and director.
