With 5 days left, here’s what’s on the schedule and happening – NBC Chicago

From the famous fair food to the iconic 500-pound Butter Cow sculpture, the 2022 Illinois State Fair is officially underway. But there are only a few days left to witness the action.

In addition to classic carnival rides, fried Oreos, and a wide variety of fairground entertainment and contests, several special events and musical performances are always scheduled for the last five days of the fair. Here are the events and performances at the rendezvous:

Wednesday August 17

In addition to special events, more than a dozen stages will host free entertainment daily. Here is a full list of stages and what they host.

Tickets for musical performances and some special events are sold separately and are on sale here.

The fair runs until August 22 and the fairgrounds are open from 7 a.m. to midnight each day. Tickets start at $10 for adults, with discounts for seniors and children. Some events may require additional tickets.
