“Wish Film could have done well”

Sonu Sood is a versatile actor whose career spans over two decades. After making films in multiple languages, the Happy New Year actor managed to break the clutter of the Indian film industry with movies like Yuva and Dabbang. He is also known for his humanitarian works during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, his recent box office miss Samrat Prithviraj saddened the actor greatly. Despite the disappointment, the actor believes in taking failures in a positive stride.

During an interview with the PTI news agency, the actor said, β€œI wish the movie could have gone well because there was a lot of hard work. As an actor, it’s important that you give your 100% and it’s up to the audience to decide what’s right and what’s wrong. You have to accept your failures and learn from them and next time you can be better; you can deliver better. Me, as an actor, I do that. This time we failed, but next time we will do well.

The 49-year-old actor further clarified that despite the poor performance on silver screens, the film is still quite special to him. He said, β€œPrithviraj was very special and the role of Chand Bardai was very special. Whatever role I am offered, I will continue to work hard for it and try to entertain people.
Sonu Sood will also make his foray into the podcast ecosystem by giving his voice to Commander Karan Saxena, based on author Amit Khan Hamladar’s novel series Commander Saxena. Calling the action thriller audio series a daunting and challenging task, the actor said: β€œIt was tough because you have to be right because the visuals don’t support you and just by your voice you have to create a world that people can sense in a way that it stays in their memory longer. I had made some remarks about some scenes like, sometimes the character is climbing or is out of breath or is lying down or has woken up or is hurt, you can’t just say lines, the voice has to change accordingly. These tips helped me.

In Samrat Prithviraj, Sonu Sood tried out the historical character of Chand Bardai. Apart from his acting projects, the actor has been in charge of pushing Indian start-ups. Last month, he announced a new show called “Kuberan’s House” which is billed as quite similar to Shark Tank India.
