Wilfried Zaha insists he moans on the pitch when he knows his teammates can play better.
The Crystal Palace winger is one of the club’s most influential players and has revealed he pleads with his teammates not to ‘fear’ their opponents as he tries to inspire the squad ahead of the game. .
The Ivorian international is loved by his supporters but we often see him showing emotion during matches.
“People see me moaning on the pitch… just because I’m passionate and don’t like losing, so I’m pissed off,” Zaha told Darren Ambrose on Boot Room.
“It’s not about moaning just for the sake of moaning. I just demanded [a lot] from my team that’s why I walk around moaning and it sounds negative but I know we’re better than that. I see you often week after week, we are better [than this]. “
In order not to become frustrated, Zaha revealed the pep talk he often gives to his teammates before games.
“Don’t fear these names, don’t fear these names, it doesn’t matter,” he added.
“I don’t care who we play against, I’ll always be in a tight position and try to get out of it.
“It can be tough sometimes, but once you get to that pitch, I keep going. “
Although he has wanted to leave for several seasons now, Zaha has remained at Selhurst Park, and while he would have liked another hit at the big time, there is no doubt that he is adored by the fans.
With the football they are now trying to play under Patrick Vieira and with quality players like Conor Gallagher and Odsonne Edouard at the club, Zaha could finally make his wish to see his club progress to bigger things come true.
