The monarch, 75, who has battled cancer in recent months, is keeping a low profile amid her recovery.

As a result, Charles is expected to sit apart from other members of the royal family during Sunday’s church service at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

According to The Telegraph, the king will stay away from the general public over Easter to ensure he stays safe and healthy.

The event will be his first public appearance since revealing he had been diagnosed with cancer in February.

The former Prince of Wales has remained mostly behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace, working remotely in his office while he undergoes treatment.

He also won’t have his annual Easter lunch with his family in Windsor after church.

However, the source told the newspaper that Charles’ appearance at the chapel is a “sign that things are going in the right direction.”

He will greet the crowd alongside Queen Camilla, 76, from a distance, to ensure her safety.

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton will be absent from Sunday’s events, with the Duchess of Cambridge, 42, battling her own cancer.

William, 41, and Middleton will stay at Sandringham Estate with their children, Prince Louis, 5, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince George, 10.

On Thursday, Camilla attended the Royal Maundy service at Worcester Cathedral in England without Charles.

At the pre-Easter event, the Duchess of Cornwall said “hello” to royal fans and continued her duties as Queen.

Charles was shown via video message during the service, where he reflected on life.
