Channing Tatum I almost didn’t make it Magic Mike’s Last Dance.
The 41-year-old actor opened up about the upcoming third installment of the hit stripper movie franchise on The Kelly Clarkson Show Thursday February 17. There, he was shown a photo of himself shirtless and ripped as Mike, showing off his dance moves, in the previous 2015 sequel, Magic Mike XXL.
“Maybe that’s why I didn’t want to do a third,” Tatum told the host. Kelly Clarkson. “Because I have to look like that.”
He continued, “It’s hard to look like that, even if you work out, being in that physical shape isn’t natural…you have to starve yourself. I don’t think when you’re that skinny , it’s actually healthy.”
Tatum remembers having to “train twice a day” and “eat perfectly at a certain time”. He also said his weight fluctuated around 15 pounds and talked about challenges with diet.
“Why, when it takes like, I don’t know, two months to get really thin, in three days, you can ruin it?” he said. “Here we go. I was like, ‘What happened?'”
