NFL teams are still looking for their starting quarterback after the 2022 NFL Draft left them without a quarterback worth building a franchise.
A quarterback is still on the trade market for NFL teams.
That quarterback is Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns.
The disgruntled quarterback has been wanting a trade since his team became interested in Deshaun Watson.
However, no one fully committed to offering the Browns anything in exchange for Mayfield.
But that could soon change with the regular season fast approaching.
So which NFL team would be the surprising fit for Mayfield in 2022?
Seattle Seahawks best for Mayfield
With the Russell Wilson trade, the Seattle Seahawks find themselves with Drew Lock and Geno Smith at quarterback.
The Seahawks have shown interest in Mayfield, signaling they have little confidence in Lock and Smith.

It would be the perfect fit for him, giving him a new division to play in.
A trade to Seattle also does more than get him out of the AFC North.
They have two good wide receivers in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
Mayfield plays his best when he has star receivers playing with him.
That would give him two receivers at the level of his Cleveland pairing with Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr.
Seattle also spent its first draft pick improving its offensive line, which fans complained about when Wilson was around.
However, if he goes to Seattle, could he have an impact on the team?
Mayfield is only as good in the team around him
If people looked at Mayfield and his record in Cleveland, they’d see a story about how he wasn’t that great.
He’s only as good as the team around him, which means if Seattle doesn’t keep Metcalf, it would make things harder for Mayfield.
I appreciate what Russ did as a Seahawk, but it’s time for a different type of QB. Baker isn’t as good as Russ anyway with 1.5” on him.

Seattle fans also feel he’s not as good as their former quarterback.
However, these statements have some merit, as the only season the Cleveland quarterback found success was when he had all the surrounding plays in Cleveland.
He had two good receivers, a good running duo and good defense to help him stay in games.
It was also that defense that helped the Browns win their first playoff game in the 2020-21 season.
So if you take away the surrounding talent, he’s comparable to a quarterback like Sam Darnold.
Will his fans accept him?
The reason Mayfield wants to leave Cleveland is because he feels neglected and ignored.
With Cleveland already ready to give up their former first-round pick, how can they feel accepted by them?
He might wonder the same about a Seattle fan base that loves Russell Wilson.
Wilson makes it difficult for any other quarterback to fill those shoes in Seattle.
His talent and motivation were essential in Seattle.
However, the Cleveland quarterback showed little of those abilities.
This might cause fans not to accept it.
If that happens, he might feel like he’s back in Cleveland again.
