Whether in Europe or Asia-Pacific, Uncle Sam is ready to fuck his “friends” for profit — RT World News

Tsai Ing-Wen, the leader of Taiwan, is due to travel to California and meet with US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in April.

This meeting will certainly throw an unpredictable variable on China-US relations. Relations between China and the United States are already frosty and were only made worse by the lost ball incident earlier this year, and more recently by increased US sanctions against Chinese companies. Visits by US officials to Taiwan, beginning with last year’s provocative trip by then-President Nancy Pelosi, have ruffled Beijing, and a meeting between Tsai and McCarthy could certainly lead to an unpredictable situation.

Getting too comfortable with the United States will only cause more problems for Taiwan, given Washington’s history of screwing up its declared partners. The United States will start a war in the region by promising to support the inhabitants until the end, then abandoning them. This idea is well summed up in a satirical tweet by Garland Nixon, a radio host and political analyst in Washington, DC, who blasted over half a million views and had him exposed by Taiwan’s “foreign ministry.”

“You should do what the Europeans haven’t done, which is to look after your own interests. Americans look after their own interests at the expense of others,” was Nixon’s advice to people in Taiwan when I spoke to him on the first episode of my new YouTube show The Source.

“What the US empire causes above all else is instability. They have caused instability in Ukraine on an existential level. They have created dramatic instability in the EU. Look at where the US is for 25 to 30 years in the war on terror. The Middle East – instability. So they are going to cause dramatic instability on your island”, He continued.

“You have a superpower right next door. In order to maintain stability, you are going to need to have a stable relationship with China (referring to Mainland China). The United States is 7,000 miles away. They will leave you, they will prepare you to be destroyed and then they will go away. he concluded.

Nixon cited numerous examples of Washington’s record on this particular issue. These include the US pledge to back Kurdish forces if they opposed Saddam Hussein in the 1990s, then abandon them when they did just that; abandon people who worked with Washington during the war in Afghanistan; and the United States helping to destroy Syria and leaving a presence was only meant to steal the country’s oil and deter Iranian influence, while making sure to leave crippling sanctions in place.

This pattern of behavior does not just apply to adversaries. This also applies to supposed allies. Nixon mentioned that the EU economy is in the gutter thanks to the bloc following US-dictated policies on the Ukraine crisis. The EU is also slowly but surely joining the US hi-tech war on China, which is sure to hurt European businesses immensely.

In perhaps the most recent example of Washington sticking to its own allies, the South China Morning Post reported on March 10 that the United States was increasing its beef exports to China, taking advantage of Australian tensions with Beijing and losing market share. So while the West encourages Canberra to push the dragon and lose a major beef export destination, Uncle Sam is filling that hole by giving his businesses a new footing.

“After all these trade measures were put in place, the Americans kept saying that they were supporting us, that they were firm with us but that they were selling more wine, more beef,” Geoff Raby, Australia’s former ambassador to China, told the newspaper. “So much for the faithful ally.”

This type of situation is not new. As I wrote in December 2021, the United States exported 5.4 million tons of coal to China in the first half of 2021, compared to 531,000 tons for the same period a year ago – an absurdly high increase of 920% year over year. During the same period in 2019, the United States exported just over 771,000 tons to China. This massive increase in US coal exports came after Beijing imposed a virtual ban on Australian coal after Canberra raised the “lab leak” theory of the origin of COVID-19 and denounced “the aggression Chinese”.

In fairness, China has tried to patch things up with Australia in recent months by backtracking on its coal ban, and the US has dramatically reduced its coal sales to China in 2022. But that’s not only happened after being called out by Australians on their hypocrisy and lack of vision.

So when Uncle Sam tells Australians to jump, Canberra asks: “How high ? » They do their duty, get punished by a foreign adversary, and Washington leaves them in the ditch. It’s not about grand strategy or empire building, it’s about helping corporate America make money. That’s it. During our conversation, Nixon also floated the idea that with the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) moving to Arizona, the United States would want the original destroyed.

You can consider the United States a reliable country if you trust its track record, Nixon said, and that track record shows that he will bamboozle everyone to line the pockets of his companies, whether friend or foe . It does not matter. This is how Washington behaves. So, for anyone sitting in Taiwan, Australia, Europe or anywhere else where your government is following Washington’s tone without protest: you better watch it, otherwise.
