When was the last time Xavier won the NCAA Tournament? (Chances of winning March Madness)

Sean Miller returned to Xavier and his Musketeers won again in March.
Say what you want about Miller, but two things are true, the guy can sweat through a suit jacket like nobody’s business, and he wins basketball games everywhere he goes.
It looked like Xavier’s run in March Madness would be short when Kennesaw State had him against the ropes in the 64th round, but Xavier then sparked an incredible second half en route to a 72-67 comeback victory.
Then, Miller defeated the team he was playing for, Pitt, in the Round of 16 by a score of 84-73. There aren’t many teams that look stronger heading into the Sweet 16 than the Musketeers.
Are they a national championship contender as the No. 3 seed, and when was the last time they were the last team still dancing in March?

When was the last national championship of the Musketeers?
Xavier has been a good team for a while and they have appeared in the NCAA Tournament 29 times, but the Musketeers are still looking for their first Final Four appearance, let alone the national title.
Even with all of his success in Arizona, Miller has yet to make the Final Four. They’ll have to clear that hurdle first before they start to think big, but if you’re thinking about the championship, let’s check out Xavier’s chances.
Xavier’s chances of winning the national championship
Despite being three seeds, Xavier is in a very tough spot in the Midwest region. No. 1 Houston is still alive and faces No. 5 Miami on the other side of the region and Xavier needs to face No. 2 Texas to even make it to this potential game.
Due to the overcrowding in the area right now, Xavier is +3500 to win the NCAA Tournament in the DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Musketeers have looked good so far and there may be hope as they made a Sweet 16 without getting much from their best player, Souley Boum. He had 17 against Kennesaw State and 14 against Pitt, but he’s been their clear offensive leader all season and he’s yet to play at that level.
He could have a big weekend and all of a sudden Xavier could cut the nets to head to a Final Four, but I just don’t see it.
Texas is my pick to win it all and has been since the start of the tournament, so I don’t see much point in taking Xavier, but I like the +3500 odds, as does San Diego State facing the Alabama in the Sweet 16 At least Xavier can avoid his region’s No. 1 seed for one more game.
