Heavy rain and thunderstorms occurred in the build-up to the tournament on Wednesday and overnight. This pushed tee times back by half an hour on Thursday, but it was a largely sunny day in Augusta then.

The same is expected on Friday, although winds could reach 20 mph.

Master’s Prize 2022

Last year, the full prize money breakdown was only announced on the Saturday of the tournament, and no confirmation of this year’s purse has yet been given.

However, it is likely to be very similar to what was awarded in 2021.

Matsuyama took home $2,070,000 for winning the green jacket, with Will Zalatoris taking home $1,242,000 as he finished second in his first Masters appearance.

Tony Finau received $299,000 for finishing tenth, Phil Mickelson’s T21 was good enough for $119,600 and Bryson DeChambeau, who tied for 46th, still won $33,503.
