‘Wheel of Fortune’ player ‘robbed’ of $40,000 prize for ‘clearly solved’ puzzle, outraged fans cry online

What a desappointment !

Furious ‘Wheel of Fortune’ fans estimated one contestant was robbed of $40,000 for her incorrect answer that could have been correct.

The contestant, Megan, a married California high school choir director, had to guess the two-word answer to solve a bonus riddle for the “Living Thing” category.

After Megan spins the wheel and lands, host Pat Sajak picks up the prize estimate card and walks her to the puzzle board that reads: “_ _N_ ‘ _R_ _ _ _.” ‘

Megan guesses a few letters until the board says “P_N_” “_RC_ _ D”

With only 10 seconds left on the clock, Megan blurted out her final guess about what sounded like “Pink Orchid” or could be very faintly heard as “Something Orchid.”

Just as the timer goes off, the correct letters are written on the board, to which Meagan then reads the correct answer, “Pink Orchid”, out loud in frustration.

“You may have been thinking too hard about one type of orchid. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you,” Sajak said, apparently realizing that Megan might have been right.

Sajak then revealed to Megan the price estimate card showing $40,000, a far cry from the $14,007 she ended up taking.

Fans watching at home couldn’t believe what they were seeing, letting Wheel of Fortune know how upset they were that Megan’s answer was deemed wrong.

“The woman was fooled #Wheel of Fortune bonus puzzle tonight she totally said ‘PINK ORCHID’ from the start,” said one X user.

“I questioned the judges from the first thing she said!! I’m deaf in one ear and half is on the right, so I use captions and lip reading. She said “Pink orchid”!! No question !! “, joked another fan who came to Megan’s defense.

“I’m mad !! She understood, she said pink orchid! Wow?!” added a third person.

“Hey @Wheel of Fortune I definitely heard the contestant say “pink orchid” at the start of this final puzzle and rewound it to make sure. You owe him $$$,” said one annoyed viewer.

“Okay @WheelofFortune, if you replay tonight’s episode for the final puzzle, the one that just aired, you’ll clearly hear that she said “pink orchid.” You have not properly credited the winner. Go play it again. Seriously, that’s exactly what she said! Pink orchid!

Megan would take home $14,007, although fans watching the show were furious after she said she was robbed of $40,000. Wheel of Fortune

Things seem to be getting out of hand lately as fans have been calling out Wheel of Fortune for some incidents.

Fans went into a frenzy on January 22 when the showrunners apparently missed a response during an Express tour featuring the “Rhyme Time” category.

Two contestants were stumped, but a third contestant named Jill eventually solved the problem after guessing two “y”s for the puzzle, which read the rhyme: “Absolutely positively.”

“Absolutely positively is NOT a rhyme” a fan argued about X.

“Hey @WheelofFortune,” another person wrote. “Be careful to explain how these two words rhyme because they absolutely don’t.”
