It’s been a while since news about multi-device support on WhatsApp broke, but now a new report shows that this feature will be more like what Telegram already does.

According to WABetainfo, while WhatsApp already offers the possibility of linking its account with WhatsApp Web, Desktop and Portal to some beta testers, it is still developing an application for the iPad and the possibility of linking another phone with the same account.

WABetainfo says it’s not clear if this feature will only be available for tablets, but as of yet, there’s no evidence the company will exclude mobile phones.

One of the things people complain about the most about WhatsApp on Telegram is the lack of multiple device support because you can connect to as many devices as you want. WhatsApp, on the other hand, is always limited to a primary device with an active internet connection.

The company is also working on another important feature, which is the ability to transfer chat history between iOS and Android devices and vice versa.

There is no official news regarding when WhatsApp will release multi-device or multi-device 2.0 support, but the company is developing and making progress.
