“What were Roy Keane’s standards like as a manager? – New Manchester United fan banner with famous executives interviewed by Simon Jordan

Simon Jordan was not impressed with the latest banner unveiled by Manchester United fans at Old Trafford.

Amid the club’s ongoing struggles, supporters delivered a message demanding better from Ralf Rangnick’s side in a disappointing 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Monday night.

However, unconvincing Man United players did not appear to receive the memo

With the faces of famous Captains Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona and Roy Keane, the sign read: “Standards”.

However, former Crystal Palace owner Jordan is wondering if Keane is actually the right example for the failed United stars.

All three played under the direction of legendary Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who Jordan said was the man responsible for enforcing the standards, rather than the players.

He points to Keane’s questionable case as a manager at Sunderland and Ipswich to make his case.

Jordan told talkSPORT: “What were Roy Keane’s standards like when he was a manager? Go on then.

“We are talking about management. Keane, the player, played for the ultimate manager.

“The ultimate manager who upheld the standards!”

“He [Sir Alex] Could have had Andy Capp by his side in the dugout as No.2 because he was the ultimate manager.

Rangnick has failed to inspire a single convincing performance since joining as interim manager – and Arsenal legend Perry Groves believes United are falling under the German.

Questions continue to be asked of Rangnick

“I actually think in the seven games under Ralf Rangnick there has been no improvement,” he told Sports Bar.

“They probably backed off.

“They’ve had more progress under Michael Carrick in the three games he’s had.

“He made big decisions, leaving aside [Bruno] Fernandes and [Cristiano] Ronaldo.

“I wonder if Man United are desperately looking because they are a talented team.”
