What to know: Fires are currently burning in Sunol, Benicia, Vacaville, Port Costa

SUNOL, Calif. (KGO) – Several fires are currently burning in the San Francisco Bay Area, forcing many people to evacuate. Stick with ABC7 News for continued coverage.

An evacuation warning has been issued in Port Costa due to a multiple alarm fire near homes, authorities said.

Firefighters say the blaze covers about 15 to 20 acres with zero percent containment.

Firefighters are urging residents to prepare to evacuate and follow all orders from law enforcement.

canyon fire

Officials say progress has been halted on a 65-acre wildfire near Sunol and Pleasanton.

In an interview with ABC7 News, a CAL FIRE official said there was a threat to transmission lines and evacuations were underway.

Benicia fire

This fire is burning near the Valero refinery.

Benicia police station tweeted the following: “Our Public Safety dispatchers are receiving damning reports of the grass fire on Corte Dorado near the Valero refinery. We are aware and @BeniciaFire is on the scene. Please follow @BeniciaFire for the latest updates on the situation.”

Tim’s Fire

This fire burns near Vacaville.

According to CAL FIRE, the fire covers approximately 39 acres and is 35% contained. Forward progress has been halted. Firefighters will be in the area for the next few hours working on containment and extinguishing hot spots.

Edgwood Fire

CAL FIRE says the 20-acre Edgewood Fire in San Mateo County is now 90% contained. All evacuation orders were downgraded to six-alarm fire warnings.
