Episode 19 Recap
Ranking Osama Episode 19, titled “The Last Bastion”, began with Ouken fatally wounding Bojji and Kage. Miranjo escaped from her mirror to bring Bojji and Despa to her inner world, where Kage was attempting to cross to the land of the dead.
After an intervention from Miranjo and his remembrance of his affection and duty to Bojji, Kage said goodbye to his mother’s soul and returned to the land of the living.
Bojji and Despa were still stuck in the world of Miranjo as she faced the souls of her mother and the first queen of Bosse.
Meanwhile, Bosse told the story of how the people of Gyakuza tortured and injured Miranjo as a child. In retaliation, Bosse slaughtered them and then had a healer restore the child.
However, Miranjo was betrayed by Bosse somehow and then made a deal with the devil to protect someone and got stuck in her mirror.
Her act of kindness to Kage and Daida’s protection of her child restored the remnant of Miranjo who was trapped in Bosse’s reincarnated spirit.
Daida, though glad that Miranjo was now free, was afraid of being left alone again. However, she assured him that someone would come to save him the same way he saved her.
Bebin, Domas, Dorshe and Apeas battled Ouken and managed to subdue him for some time. However, Ouken remembered Despa’s lessons when they were young and broke free. The four also got back to their feet and prepared to fight him once more.
What to expect in episode 20
The preview of Ranking Osama Episode 20 shows Miranjo facing off and arguing with her mother and the First Queen, while Bojji sees all she’s been through. This indicates that the rest of Miranjo’s past, including identity and his relationship to the red-skinned child, will be revealed.
Along with this, Bojji is likely to understand Miranjo better and possibly break his curse in the process. The preview also shows that Bojji, Kage, and Despa will return to life, though it’s unclear if this is due to Miranjo’s powers or the healer mentioned by Dorshe.
The Big Four are shown to have been defeated by Ouken, but it is unclear whether or not Despa will intervene. Some fans had speculated that Ouken might be hypnotized or brainwashed, in which case Despa or Desha would likely be the ones to break him.
The title of Ranking Osama Episode 20 suggests that the main focus will be the fight between Bosse and Ouken. Indeed, the preview shows Bosse returning to the battlefield and mischievously defeating his son. He is still in Daida’s body, implying that Bojji can only save his brother by defeating their father. Bosse’s true motives will likely become clearer in the next episode as well.
