What matches will Manchester United star Casemiro miss? Suspended midfielder can still play Carabao Cup final and Barcelona clash despite ban

Manchester United star Casemiro is expected to remain sidelined following his red card against Crystal Palace but can return for the Carabao Cup final at the end of the month.

The Brazilian received his marching orders in United’s 2-1 win over Palace in the Premier League.

During a mass brawl between the two sides, VAR picked up Casemiro by grabbing Will Hughes around the throat with both hands.

That left referee Andre Marriner no choice but to send off the 30-year-old and he will now miss the Red Devils’ next three domestic games.

It is the first consecutive red of Casemiro’s club career and he will now be suspended for United’s quick double header against Leeds.

United host Los Blancos on Wednesday February 8 before a return trip to Elland Road on Sunday February 12.

Casemiro will also miss the visit to Leicester on Sunday February 19.

But the ex-Real Madrid star will be able to feature in United’s two-legged knockout tie against Barcelona.

The Red Devils travel to Spain on Thursday February 16 ahead of the second leg a week later.

And Erik ten Hag will also be able to call on his influential midfielder domestically again for the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle on Sunday 26 February.

Casemiro has just returned from a suspension.

He missed United’s 3-2 defeat at Arsenal last month after picking up five yellow cards this season.
