What markets are open and closed on Thanksgiving Day in the United States

US stocks should end strong

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a rise in low volume stocks, but that’s happening right now as US stocks hit the highs for the day. The S&P 500 is up 10 points to 4,701.

There won’t be any grinding at all tomorrow with the New York Stock Exchange shutting down and CME Globex shutting down from 1 p.m. ET to 6 p.m. ET.

On Friday, there is an early close for the NYSE at 1 p.m. ET.

SIFMA recommends that you do not trade bonds on Thursday and close at 2 p.m. ET on Friday.

Needless to say, trade in the United States will be very thin by the weekend.
