The first council of ministers will be held on Wednesday at the Elysée. On the program, very hot issues such as the climate, purchasing power, the energy crisis, unemployment insurance or even pension reform await Emmanuel Macron and his government, who promise a new method upon returning from vacation.
It’s the return of all dangers. At a time when Elisabeth Borne’s popularity rating is up to 41% and even exceeds that of Emmanuel Macron at 37%, according to the Ifop survey published by the Sunday newspaper, the first council of ministers will be held on Wednesday at the Elysée.
Climate, purchasing power, energy crisis, unemployment insurance or even pension reform… Many files await the president and his government who also promise a new method upon returning from vacation.

First, there is the climate emergency, after a scorching summer marked by fires, historic drought and extreme weather events. “The ecological transition will be the strong axis of this return to school”, insists an adviser from the Élysée. Recommended announcements moreover be made quickly.
Unemployment insurance and pension reform are on the agenda
In addition to the sobriety plan to deal with the energy crisis, the head of state also wants to reopen certain sensitive files. A text on unemployment insurance is thus planned for October and consultations on the pension reform are planned for September.
The National Council for Refoundation will launch on September 8
There will also be consultations on health, school and public services. All these subjects will be submitted for dialogue within the framework of the National Council for Refoundation (CNR). This CNR, whose contours are still vague, must be launched on September 8. It is supposed to bring together unions, elected officials, associations and citizens to discuss bills before they even arrive in Parliament.
The Parliament which for the first time in 20 years will resume its activity in October and not a month earlier. The executive wanted to give itself time to prepare the texts on the agenda and also the arm wrestling which is announced around the examination of the budget for the year 2023.
Emmanuel Macron’s return to school also begins with a big international sequence: Thursday, the President of the Republic goes to Algeria for three days, in order to deepen the bilateral relationship and cooperation between the two countries.
