Got away with a goal disallowed after beating at the cross and otherwise unworked until smart block denied Pukki late and kept the clean sheet.

Produced an outrageous first-time cross on the fly for Fornals’ chance, although the flag would have ruled it out.

Important block to deny Gilmour’s volley and the key to air presence to win the penalty before hobbling injured.

Marshalled Pukki with ease until late occasions, but will have had more trying days sitting on the sofa.

Quietly solid, which was probably just the ticket after Frankfurt’s red card.
