West Ham player ratings vs Leeds: Paqueta takes lead role but Kehrer suffers from stink

However, Thilo Kehrer suffered a shock at left-back at Elland Road.
Here’s how David Moyes’ team assessed…
Lukasz Fabianski – 7
Didn’t have much luck with either goal but escaped with a dropped cross. Tilted Rodrigo’s shot over the bar then made a superb late save from the same player’s header.
Vladimir Coufal – 7
Closed with a 50-yard effort after Illan Meslier’s poor clearance and was generally solid, with the Hammers’ weakness coming down the other flank. Wounded by a deceased Crysencio Summerville and replaced.
Craig Dawson – 5
Made few obvious mistakes but both Leeds goals went too easily through the center of defense and were overtaken by Rodrigo’s late chance.
Nayef Aguerd – 6
Made a brilliant last-minute tackle within two minutes of his first Premier League start but got caught a few times.
Thilo Kehrer – 3
Redeployed at left-back and had an absolute stink, his tone was set with a terrible pass to put Rodrigo early.
Declan Rice – 5
One of the skipper’s worst performances. Low will challenge Rodrigo for leveler.
Tomas Soucek – 6
Given a bit more offensive license in front of Rice but ineffective for long stretches. Provided physicality against a high-energy Leeds midfielder, however. Made some vital clearances in the late Leeds charge.
Jarrod Bowen – 6
Won the penalty by edging out Robin Koch and his pace behind caused occasional problems.
Lucas Paqueta – 8
Took his penalty superbly for West Ham’s long-awaited first goal. Had shown some nice touches and passing before even that.
Pablo Fornals – 6
Favored over Said Benrahma and brought good energy, although let go when he missed a keeper before play was called off for the spot kick.
Gianluca Scamacca – 7
Barely had a kick in the first half but put the Hammers ahead with a sensational effort inside the post to end the seven-game Premier League drought.
Substitutes
