West Ham fans think there’s a hint of Jesse Lingard in the final Premier League team list
West Ham fans suspect Jesse Lingard could soon return to the club after posting his latest Premier League squad.
Lingard has been without a club since the end of last season after completing his one-year contract with Nottingham Forest.
The former Manchester United star spent the second half of the 2021/21 season at West Ham, a hugely impressive stint which saw him score nine goals and provide five assists in 16 matches during a campaign which helped ensure qualification for the Europa League.
Hammers boss David Moyes has confirmed to talkSPORT that Lingard has been training in east London since leaving Forest.
The Scot then said there was no “real update” on his situation at the moment, but fans believe the 30-year-old could be back soon.
West Ham announced a 24-man squad for the Premier League season opener on Thursday and said: “Clubs who have not filled the 25 places may recruit and register free agents who are without a club at any time, subject to Premier League rules. approval.”

Lingard, who made 232 appearances for Man United, scored just twice in 20 games for Forest last season.
If he returns to east London permanently, he will join a West Ham side who have very impressed so far this season.
The Hammers have won three of their opening four Premier League matches, including a 3-1 win over Chelsea.
Moyes’ side currently sit fourth in the table and should Lingard return to his past form at West Ham, then success could certainly be on the cards again for the Hammers.
