For this Tuesday, November 23, Cold Front Number 10 it will continue to hit numerous states in Mexico.
The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported that the frontal system will move in the next few hours from the Gulf of Mexico to the Yucatan Peninsula. In its wake it will leave heavy rains, intense winds and a marked drop in temperatures.
“The air mass associated with the front will maintain cold environment and fog banks at dawn over the north, center and east of the national territory, as well as an event from “North” strong to very strong on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec, “the climate agency warned.
The coldest records are expected in mountainous areas of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango and Zacatecas, with values below the freezing point ranging from -5 to 0ºC. However, this time, the person responsible for the icy environment in those states will not be the cold front, but a polar trough and a subtropical jet stream that will move over the northwest of the national territory.
“They will generate strong winds, cloudy skies and isolated rains in the region, in addition to the probability of sleet or freezing rain in the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir, Baja California, starting tonight and early Wednesday morning, ”explained the SMN.
Meanwhile, in the east, center and northeast of the country it will be acting frontal system number 10. According to the forecast, temperatures will be very low in the mountains of Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Oaxaca, Veracruz and Chiapas, with minimums ranging from 0 to 5ºC.
In the next few hours they forecast rains in 24 states from Mexico. These will be caused by various phenomena that will advance through the Republic.
In the first place, as we explained, the cold front 10 will hit the northeast, east and center of the country. At the same time, the polar trough and jet stream will move over the northwest, while a low pressure channel will hit the western regions.
Thus, the rains will be distributed over a good part of the national territory. The largest accumulations are expected in Veracruz and Oaxaca, with very strong registers that will go from 50 to 75 millimeters. They follow him Puebla, Tabasco, Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo, where they will go from 25 to 50 millimeters.
According to the forecast, showers of up to 25 millimeters will also fall in Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Michoacán, Jalisco and Guerrero; while in the Peninsula of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Colima, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Mexico City and Tlaxcala rainfall will be light and isolated.
The different phenomena that will be affecting Mexico throughout this Tuesday will also cause very strong winds. The gusts will beat from 70 to 90 kilometers per hour in the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec, and from 40 to 60 kilometers per hour in Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo. In all these entities, cold front number 10 will cause a northern event.
On the other hand, the gusts will blow strongly in Chihuahua and Coahuila, reaching speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour. In Baja California, Sonora, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Durango and the Gulf of California, they will go from 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.
