Kevin Durant scored 27 points in one night as the Brooklyn Nets beat the Chicago Bulls 138-112 at United Center. It was the most defining game of Brooklyn’s 2021-22 campaign as they claimed their 26th regular season victory. Durant attributed the victory to the formidable Nets defense that led to a 26-point victory on Wednesday night.
Speaking during his interaction with the post-game media, Durant said:
“Defensively we were on the same page all night. We talked. We communicated. Usually when we do this as a team, no matter what happens on the offensive end of the ball, we put ourselves in good shape. position to win. Tonight we fought for stuff. We played against three incredible goal scorers from all over the pitch. We managed to beat most of their attempts. “
“Usually that’s all you can ask for against players like that. Give Kess a lot of credit. [Kessler Edwards] and Day’Ron [Sharpe] to get in, which makes it difficult for Vuc [Nikola Vucevic], which makes it difficult for Zach [LaVine] and DeMar [DeRozan]. We just played as a team tonight on both sides. “
Kevin Durant and James Harden combine for 52 points and 25 assists as Brooklyn Nets win big
Kyrie Irving didn’t have much of an impact on the Brooklyn Nets’ win over the Chicago Bulls. Kyrie had 9 points on 4 of 10 shots in 25 minutes of playing time. However, with Durant contributing 27 points (7 of 10, 70% of shots from the field) and nine assists, and James Harden coming in with a big double-double (25 points, 16 assists), it turned out to be an easy win for the Nets.
Brooklyn had a 22-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. With Chicago unable to catch up in the final period, the Brooklyn Nets stars were able to spend plenty of time on the bench as the game ended in garbage time.
Speaking on his early withdrawal from the game, Harden said:
“Dude, one of the best feelings, honestly. It means you did something right or wrong. Tonight it was about doing something right. I think we were just engaged. after that game in Portland that we had to bounce back and redeem ourselves and we did it in a really good way. “
