In an interview with Fox News published Friday, Maverick County, Texas Sheriff Tom Schmerber said he had received “no help” from President Joe Biden and “I don’t think the government federal help anyone here”. Schmerber also called for a “zero tolerance” policy where people who enter illegally are deported immediately and people who wish to seek asylum can seek asylum at embassies outside the United States and said that “c it’s like there’s no control. The borders are open.
Schmerber said: “We are out of control. Even though we have the National Guard, and I know Border Patrol – I don’t blame Border Patrol. They work hard…they work very hard and they catch a group, they have to transport them and do all this processing. So it’s like there’s no control. The borders are open.
He also said the solution was “Grab them and kick them out right now, and that would stop the problem. This is currently not the case. So the solution for me would be something like this, zero tolerance. And immigrants who want to come here and who have problems in their country, well, we have embassies. Maybe they can apply to their embassies in other countries. And “I don’t think the feds are helping anybody here. I heard nothing of–no help from the president. I was hoping, at first, that he would take more action right away. But I didn’t see anything.”
