Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz and his wife, Tiffany Ortiz, mutually decided to go their own way last year, ending a 25-year relationship. Tiffany made the announcement on social media, squashing all the rumors.

In an Instagram post, Tiffany said the split was amicable and that she and David would continue to be friends and co-parent their amazing kids. They have 3 children together.
“Over the past 25 years, David and I have shared a beautiful romantic and marital adventure. We have made the decision to embark on a new phase of our life journey together, not as a couple, but as friends and co-parents for our wonderful children,” she said.

Navigation has not always been easy for the Ortiz couple. David filed for divorce in 2013 after 11 years of marriage.
“There are situations in life that work for a while and at some point they don’t work anymore and you have to move on. I move on. She moves on. I hope everything the world respects that,” David told MLB.com in an interview.
However, the two reconciled the following year, with Tiffany telling the Boston Herald in 2014 that she and Ortiz “missed each other terribly” while apart.

The couple have had their ups and downs in their two decades together, including the June 2019 filming of David in the Dominican Republic, for which he underwent six-hour surgery. At the time, a very emotional Tiffany paid tribute to her then-husband on Father’s Day, saying his health scare had given their family “a new appreciation for life and a sense of purpose. awareness of what really matters”.

Either way, the ex-couple have always consciously contributed and given back to society. In 2007, Tiffany and David co-founded the David Ortiz Children’s Fund; a charity which “provides essential support to children in the Dominican Republic and New England who cannot afford the essential cardiac services they need”.
Although David Ortiz and his ex-wife Tiffany Ortiz are still not together, they left an indelible mark on the baseball fraternity.
