Paul Pogba couldn’t hide his disappointment after watching Manchester United travel to Leicester City on Saturday, admitting his side deserved to lose the Premier League shock.
The Red Devils are now winless in their last three league outings, having made a brilliant start to the 2021-22 season.
They will now end the weekend outside the top four as they come to terms with a convincing 4-2 loss at King Power Stadium.
What was said?
“To be honest, we’ve had these kinds of games for a long time,” Pogba told BBC after the final whistle on Saturday.
“We didn’t find the problem, conceding easy goals, stupid goals. We need to be more mature, to play with more experience and arrogance in a good way.
“We have to find something, we have to change.”
The bigger picture
Saturday’s setback ended an impressive run for United away from Old Trafford.
The club had already gone 30 games unbeaten on the road, dating back to the January 2020 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool.
Moreover, since the 2019 4-0 scraping against Everton, United had only conceded four away goals in a single game.
They are now hoping for better Champions League fortune, with Atalanta visiting Old Trafford on Wednesday.
