The half-marathon race is set to begin on Sunday after a two-year pandemic-induced hiatus.

The race starts at 7 am and has a time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes.

The event begins and ends at Garfield Park, the oldest park on the West Side. The route will take runners through Humboldt and Douglass parks and on a tour of several neighborhoods that line the boulevards connecting the three parks.

In addition to the race, a free outdoor festival is planned for participants and residents of the community. The festival, which will also be held in Garfield Park, will open at 8 a.m. and will feature “a mix of entertainment, health and wellness activities and community activations,” organizers said.

There will also be an athletics clinic for youth sports groups, hosted by USA Track & Field.
