Wanted for murder: police find him in prison

A man wanted by police for potentially killing three homeless people in Los Angeles was actually already in prison for another murder.

Jarred Joseph Powell, 33, was arrested Thursday for the murder of a Los Angeles County employee at his San Dimas home days earlier, CBS News reported.

The man is therefore accused of four murders in four days.

The three homeless people were allegedly shot and killed early in the morning while they were sleeping in different parts of the city.

The first murder occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, in South Los Angeles. The victim is a 37-year-old man.

The second victim, a 62-year-old man, was killed the next day around 4:55 a.m. The third homeless person, a 52-year-old man, was killed around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

It was between the first and second homeless people that Mr. Powell allegedly robbed and killed Nicholas Simbolon, while he parked his Tesla in his garage.

This series of murders comes as Las Vegas police were also looking for a suspect who allegedly shot five homeless people, including one fatally, during the same period.
