Large retailers and other employers that hire hourly workers continue to raise wages and, so far, have also maintained profit growth.

On Monday, Target Corp. said it plans to spend up to $300 million more this year on workers, which includes increased wages and other benefits. Starting hourly wages at Target for store and supply chain employees will range from $15 to $24, the company said.
